Victims of Corona
Thousands of Palestinians lost their jobs over the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the number continues to rise, influenced by the terms of the tripartite agreement. As a result, many Palestinian families have been deprived of their daily livelihoods due to unjust dismissals. As part of the "Other Victims of Corona" project at Awtar, funded by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, participants created a short animated film depicting the struggles of a large group of Palestinian workers during the pandemic. Yazan is just one example of workers who have been unfairly dismissed. There is an urgent need to exert pressure and mobilize socially to reform labor laws and ensure the protection of workers' rights.

Victims of Corona, Day 2
More than a third of private sector workers receive salaries below the minimum wage, and others are paid the minimum wage and it is not sufficient to meet their basic needs and spare them poverty. During Corona pandemic, as some employers have taken advantage of the pandemic to shirk their responsibility to employees, the situation got worse. Umm Mahmoud represents hundreds of Palestinian workers who receive salaries below the minimum wage. The gap remains between high costs and lower wages that are barely enough to provide a decent life.
